It screws onto the fuel filter head of older Mack E‑Series mechanical diesel engines (Maxidyne and Econodyne) using a 13/16‑18 UN‑2B thread. The filter captures dirt, rust, and water ahead of the injection pump, protecting injectors and fuel system components. It is replaced at the engine manufacturer’s service interval to prevent fuel restriction and expensive pump damage.
