It mounts on the bottom of the tank and automatically shuts off flow if the trailer’s discharge piping gets sheared off in an accident, preventing a dangerous product spill. The valve is air operated, using an external air cylinder with a hard-coated aluminum body and a polished stainless steel shaft, which keeps the product from contaminating the air supply. A fusible plug is included to automatically close the valve in a fire, and the Teflon-encapsulated seals provide broad chemical compatibility.
