ERG ISM O-RING

This is a Viton (fluorocarbon) O-ring seal commonly used on Cummins ISM and Mack engines. It has a dash size -228, meaning a 0.139 inch cross-section and a 2.234 inch inside diameter. The durable Viton material handles high heat and oil resistance, making it suitable for engine sealing applications like oil cooler or EGR system joints. You'd replace this O-ring whenever you're servicing related components and notice the old seal is flattened, cracked, or leaking.
