It is designed for use in modern heavy-duty truck and automotive cooling systems that specify an Organic Acid Technology (OAT) formulation. This type of coolant protects aluminum and other engine metals from rust and corrosion, prevents freezing down to -34°F, and raises the boiling point to over 265°F. You typically replace or top off with this coolant as part of routine maintenance or a cooling system flush, especially on fleets running North American makes from the mid-1990s onward that require an orange, silicate-free extended-life formula.
