The splined section has a major diameter of 1.500 inches and originally a 16-spline profile, but one spline has been removed to create a timed master spline—resulting in 15 active splines that guarantee correct assembly alignment. It is commonly used when building or repairing heavy‑truck driveshafts to replace a worn or damaged stub, ensuring proper driveline phasing and preventing vibration or premature wear.
