It features a 3.000-inch major diameter with 16 parallel splines that mate with a matching slip yoke, allowing the driveshaft to extend and retract as the suspension moves. You weld this shaft into a 4.5-inch outside diameter tube with a .259-inch wall thickness when building a new driveshaft or repairing a worn splined end. Replacing a worn or damaged stub shaft restores proper driveline function and prevents vibration or failure.
