FAN HUB

This is a remanufactured Horton HT/S Advantage fan clutch (often called a fan hub assembly). It mounts on the front of a heavy-duty diesel engine—commonly a Caterpillar 3406 or 3176—and uses an on/off air-operated clutch to turn the engine cooling fan on and off as needed. You replace it when the clutch slips excessively, fails to engage and causes overheating, or develops bearing noise and pulley wobble.
