It threads onto the fitting body (11/16-20 thread) to secure the tubing and compression sleeve, forming a tight, leak-free connection in air brake systems. Commonly found on heavy-duty trucks and trailers, it meets DOT FMVSS 571.106 air brake requirements and is used whenever the original nut is damaged, corroded, or when repairing air line connections. The nut is compatible with SAE J844 Type A and B nylon tubing and is rated for working pressures up to 150 psi across a wide temperature range.
