It is installed on fuel tanker trailers to control vapor flow during loading and unloading operations. The internal spring-loaded poppet keeps the vapor line sealed until it is connected to the loading equipment, which helps contain hydrocarbon vapors and condensation, reducing driver exposure and vapor loss. This part is replaced when the poppet fails to seal, the aluminum body corrodes, or the Buna/Viton seals wear out and cause leaks.
