It provides the sliding connection that allows a driveshaft to change length as the suspension moves, while still transmitting torque. Designed for 1810 series driveshafts, it fits 4.5-inch diameter tubing with a .134-inch wall thickness. You typically replace this component when the splines are worn, twisted, or damaged, or when building a new driveshaft assembly.
