It is a strap-style yoke that bolts to a companion flange or another yoke at the U-joint, and slides onto a transmission output shaft, axle input shaft, or transfer case shaft with a 2.024-inch major diameter, 39-spline involute hole. You typically replace an end yoke when the splines are worn or twisted, the U-joint bearing bores are wallowed out, or it has been damaged by a failed U-joint.
