It has a splined bore (2.500-inch major diameter, 10 splines) and a bolt plate style to connect the driveshaft to a transmission output shaft or pinion. The yoke includes a slinger and has a hub machined for a speedometer gear, making it common on manual transmissions with mechanical speedometer drives. Replacement is needed when splines wear, the yoke cracks, or U-joint retaining ears become damaged.
