This is a 1760 series slip yoke for a heavy-duty truck driveshaft.

It slides onto a 2.5-inch diameter, 16-spline output shaft (from the transmission or axle) and allows the driveshaft to change length as the suspension moves. You replace it when the internal splines are worn or damaged, or if the yoke ears are bent, to prevent vibration, premature U-joint wear, or driveshaft separation. It must be paired with a 1760 series universal joint (1.938-inch cap diameter, 7-inch lock-up width).
