It is typically used on heavy-duty truck cooling system hoses, turbocharger piping, and air intake ducts. The clamp uses a stainless steel band and a stack of Belleville spring washers to automatically compensate for hose compression set and thermal expansion, preventing leaks. It should be replaced when the band is corroded, the screw is stripped, or the clamp no longer holds the specified torque.
