It is a double-ended, Grade 8 stud with a collar that presses into the hub. The wheel end has left-hand threads (3/4"-16) to prevent lug nuts from loosening on the driver's side of the vehicle, while the drum end has right-hand threads. It is commonly replaced when threads are damaged or during hub and brake service on Budd, Con-Met, and Webb wheel applications.
