THERMOSTAT

This is a genuine Cummins 180°F coolant thermostat designed for 1998.5–2007 Dodge Ram trucks with the 5.9L Cummins turbodiesel and for equipment powered by the 3.9L 4BT Cummins engine. It opens at 180°F to regulate coolant flow, keeping the engine at its proper operating temperature. A faulty thermostat can cause overheating, poor heater output, or excessive fuel consumption, so replace it if the engine runs too hot or too cold, or if temperature fluctuations are noticed. The thermostat is a direct-fit replacement for the original part and comes with a jiggle pin and vented design to aid in air bleed during installation.
