The upper coupler includes the kingpin and the reinforcement plate, also called a pick-up plate or bolster plate, that takes the load and sliding forces during coupling and towing. You replace this part when the original coupler is damaged from coupling impacts, rusted, or cracked, or when the kingpin is excessively worn and is no longer serviceable by itself. This 102-inch wide model is designed for standard over-the-road dry vans, reefers, and platform trailers built by Trailmobile or designed to similar frame dimensions.
