It features a splined bore with a 1.750-inch major diameter and 10 parallel splines, and is commonly used as a coupling shaft yoke in mid-ship or carrier bearing driveshaft assemblies. During driveline overhauls, this yoke is replaced when splines are worn, ears are damaged, or when upgrading U-joint components. The yoke is secured with a strap and bolt kit (SPI-5-70-28X) and mates with compatible 1610 U-joint kits such as SPI-5-279X or SPI-5-674X.
