It is the component that connects a universal joint to the driveshaft tube on a heavy-duty truck or equipment driveline. The yoke is welded to the end of a 3.500-inch outer diameter steel tube with a .134-inch wall thickness, and it accepts a 1610 series universal joint. It is replaced when the yoke ears are worn, the splines are damaged, or during a complete driveline rebuild to restore proper joint fit and alignment.
