It seals the tank opening with a straight thread and a thick Teflon gasket. The cap has a lead fusible element that melts in a fire, venting pressure to help prevent a tank rupture. A swivel hook is included for attaching a safety cable or chain, and the cap is replaced after the fusible link has been activated or damaged.
