This is an injector sleeve for the Caterpillar C13 diesel engine. The sleeve fits into the cylinder head and forms the bore that the fuel injector seals against, separating the fuel and coolant passages. It is commonly replaced when a sleeve develops a crack, becomes pitted, or is disturbed during injector removal, to prevent coolant or fuel leaks and compression loss.
