It moves fuel oils, gasoline, and thick products like asphalt or molasses using hardened cast-iron gears, bronze sleeve bearings, and an adjustable graphite packing seal. A built-in outboard ball bearing and internal relief valve protect the pump and system. The pump is typically replaced when it seeps excessively from the packing, loses pressure, or shows gear/bearing wear that reduces flow.
