It is designed specifically for setups that use a steel inner wheel and an aluminum outer wheel. The nut threads onto the 3/4"-16 inner stud, then the outer nut threads onto its 1-1/8"-16 external threads to secure both wheels. Replace this nut when the threads are damaged, corroded, or when converting to aluminum outer wheels and the factory-length nut is too short.
