It controls a two-position, three-way air valve that engages or disengages auxiliary equipment—such as hydraulic pumps, dump bodies, or snow plows—directly from the cab. The switch is typically replaced when it leaks air, fails to hold position, or its electrical contacts wear out, causing intermittent PTO operation. It is a direct aftermarket replacement for several popular truck makes and is commonly cross-referenced with the Kenworth G90-1066-09 switch.
