You replace this ring when rebuilding a wheel hub during brake or bearing service, or if you see oil leaking past the seal. This specific ring is built for 19,000-lb rated trailer axles made by Dana, Eaton, Meritor, and Standard Forge, and fits hubs with a seal bore diameter of 5.750 inches or slightly less.
