It mounts to the rear of a trailer to cushion the impact when backing into a loading dock, protecting both the trailer and the dock structure. The bumper measures 6 inches long, 3 inches wide, and 3.3 inches tall, with two 1/2-inch bolt holes that are 2.5 inches apart center-to-center. You replace it when the original bumper is cracked, deformed, or missing, as a worn bumper can no longer absorb shock effectively.
