It is designed to join a 3.5-inch diameter, .083-inch wall driveshaft tube with a 1-9/16-inch (1.562") major diameter, 16-spline male connection. When a driveshaft spline becomes worn or damaged, cutting off the old splined end and welding on this stub shaft restores the slip-joint interface without replacing the entire shaft. The part requires professional installation and welding to ensure proper balance and strength.
