This is a Spicer 1410 series slip yoke, a key component of a light- to medium-duty driveshaft assembly. It slides onto the transmission or transfer case output shaft, allowing the driveshaft to lengthen and shorten as the vehicle's suspension moves. The three-eared yoke connects to a 1410 series universal joint to transmit power to the differential. It is typically replaced when the splines wear out, causing driveline slop or vibration, or when the yoke ears are damaged.
