It's a non-greasable, inside snap ring style U-joint often used as a wheel joint on 2003 and newer Dodge Ram trucks with the 9.25-inch AAM front axle, and on some GM applications. The U-joint transmits torque from the axle shaft to the wheel hub, and you replace it when it wears out, causing vibrations, clicking, or excessive rotational play at the wheel. It measures 1.375 inches on the bearing caps and has a 2.920-inch lock-up distance between snap rings.
