It connects a driveshaft to a differential or transmission using a 46‑spline involute bore and a half‑round yoke that attaches to an SPL250 universal joint. The yoke requires a strap or bolt‑on retaining kit (SPI‑250‑70‑18X) and is used in commercial trucks, often Volvo applications. It transmits engine torque while allowing the driveline to flex, and is replaced when splines wear, the yoke becomes damaged, or during a driveline rebuild.
