It serves as the centering link between the two U-joints inside the CV assembly, and its 0.500-inch ball stud helps maintain equal joint angles to eliminate vibration. A worn or damaged ball stud can cause noticeable driveline vibration at twice the driveshaft speed. This yoke is commonly found in the front driveshaft of 1983-1985 Ford Ranger 4x4 trucks and 1984 Bronco II 4x4s, but fits any 1210-series double-cardan CV that uses these dimensions.
