It bolts to a companion flange on the differential, transfer case, or transmission, and houses the centering ball stud and U-joint cross to allow smooth power transfer at varying angles. The sealed, non-greaseable design eliminates the grease fitting, making it suitable for applications where maintenance access is difficult. Replace this yoke if you notice excessive driveline vibration, noise, or looseness at the CV joint, typically caused by wear in the socket bore or ball stud area.
