It features three evenly spaced red LED lamps mounted on a durable, corrosion-resistant bar, providing a highly visible indication of the vehicle's outer edges during nighttime operation. These LED lights are solid-state, shock- and vibration-proof, and offer a service life of up to 100,000 hours with a very low current draw, typically under 150 milliamps. When an ID bar fails or becomes damaged, it must be replaced to remain compliant with federal lighting requirements.
