CARRIER BEARING

A carrier bearing (center support bearing) supports the midsection of a multi-piece driveshaft, reducing vibration and maintaining alignment. It consists of a sealed bearing inside a rubber or polyurethane cushion mounted in a steel bracket. When the bearing wears, you may notice driveline vibration, clunking, or excessive play; replacement prevents damage to U-joints and other components.
