It slides onto the output shaft of the transmission and connects to the driveshaft via a 1330 series universal joint, allowing the driveshaft to move in and out as the suspension articulates. This nickel-plated steel yoke fits a variety of Chrysler, Dodge, and Ram transmissions with a 30-spline output shaft, commonly found on 2002 and newer Ram 1500 and Dakota pickups. It is typically replaced when the original yoke is worn, splines are damaged, or the sealing surface is grooved, which can cause fluid leaks or driveline vibration.
