It is designed to be welded onto a 3-inch diameter tube with 0.083-inch wall thickness, and pairs with a centering yoke and H-yoke to complete the CV joint. The yoke accepts 1310 series universal joints and allows the driveshaft to operate at greater angles while reducing vibration. Replacement is needed when the yoke is worn, damaged, or during a driveshaft rebuild.
