This is a steel tube weld yoke designed to be welded to the end of a 2.5-inch diameter, 0.065-inch wall driveshaft tube.

It connects the driveshaft to a 1310 series universal joint, allowing the shaft to transmit power at an angle. You would replace it when the yoke is worn, damaged, or during a custom driveshaft build, and it must be professionally welded in place to maintain driveline balance and safety.
