It slides into a standard placard holder (often called a Slidemaster® holder) mounted on the side of a truck, trailer, or intermodal container. The placard displays the required 4-digit UN number, hazard class 3 symbol, and DOT-required markings to comply with 49 CFR hazardous materials regulations. Replace it when the placard becomes faded, damaged, or when you need to switch the commodity being carried.
