A sandshoe axle is the steel pin that holds the sandshoe (pivot foot) onto the bottom of a trailer's landing gear leg.

It passes through the sandshoe's flared center holes, with a flared head on one end and a retaining bolt on the other, allowing the leg to pivot on uneven ground. Replace it when the pin bends, wears, or the bolt fails, which can cause the sandshoe to detach.
