REAR INPUT SEAL

This is a rear differential input pinion seal, commonly used on heavy-duty truck axles. It seals the pinion shaft where it enters the differential housing, preventing gear oil from leaking out and contaminants from getting in. Over time, the seal can wear, harden, or become damaged, leading to leaks that can cause gear failure, so replacement is recommended when leakage is spotted.
